History Bits: Underground logistics systems

Here’s a little known bit of logistics technology history.  At one time, there were three underground systems for moving mail underground — New York City and Paris used pneumatic tube systems, and London used a railway system.  These logistics technology systems sped the movement of mail among post offices within a city and were the most modern state-of-the-art at one time.
